UW Information Technology (UW-IT) is the central information technology organization for the University of Washington, responsible for strategic planning, oversight, and direction of the UW’s IT infrastructure, resources, and services. UW-IT provides critical technology support to all three campuses, UW medical centers, and research operations around the world. UW-IT partners with the University community to enable innovation, learning, discovery, and service.
Academic Services (AS) is the division of UW-IT that develops and supports enterprise academic and student administrative systems. The Student Information System (SIS) Program, in turn, has responsibility for systems that directly support the entire student lifecycle - including admissions, academic planning, registration, financial aid, and student accounts - as well as those that enable it, such as curriculum management. The SIS Program engages the UW community in visioning a technology enabled future that supports the broader goals of the university. We are currently seeking a Business Analyst with project management experience to support our efforts to modernize these systems.
The incumbent will conduct and direct analysis efforts, planning, designing and testing on one or two work streams within a diverse team environment that includes representatives from a broad range of campus and administrative units.
Due to the level of ambiguity and complexity of requirements, the incumbent must have strong intellectual curiosity and the ability to constructively question and influence thought partners across functional areas and end-user audiences.
Due to the number of diverse stakeholders and the matrixed organization structure, the incumbent must be able to communicate complex processes, problems, and solutions in a simple, compelling, accurate, and highly visual manner for all levels of the organization.
REQUIREMENTS:
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

This position contributes in a collaborative team work environment.
Collaboration is supported through a shared space working environment, ad hoc meetings focused on problem-solving, and the use of a variety of communication tools. Responsibility to work varied hours as needed to meet project deadlines and to accomplish work assignments on which others’ activities depend. Expectation to go over and above as necessary to achieve agreed upon goals and outcomes within the student program. Daily interactions with other team members, subject matter experts and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
