UW Medicine Strategic Marketing & Communications is looking for a Campaign Content Strategist to conceptualize and create integrated brand and marketing campaigns for UW Medicine programs and services. This role will develop compelling and innovative content strategies that meet audience needs, align with organizational business goals, and drive engagement and conversions.
The successful candidate is a creative and analytical self-starter, who is passionate about good content, accessibility and usability, and has the ability to build consensus with colleagues across the organization. They will also be able to identify, grow, and nurture key audiences using great storytelling through engaging content, analytics, strategic partnerships and execution across multiple formats and points of distribution.
The Content Strategist will have a strong visual design sensibility and a background in content strategy, campaign development, writing, audience-centered user experience, audience research and analytics, and a can-do approach to organizational complexities.
The Content Strategist requires the ability to think both strategically and creatively while working within teams to create unique marketing materials for the web, digital, email and print marketing. This person works closely with colleagues in Creative, Development, Content Strategy, Marketing, and Media Relations to continually iterate, analyze and improve content and UX. Will also work strategically with stakeholders outside Strategic Marketing & Communications.
This position is critical to the reputation of UW Medicine. The language we use, how we use it, and the words we choose reflects on the department and UW Medicine as a whole. UW Medicine uses content marketing as our means to improve the health of the public and provide information about the services we provide. This position ensures that content meets our audiences in the right places, at the right times, when they need it.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Draft, Edit, Test and Improve Content: Produce and edit compelling and authentic content for UW Medicine campaign channels. Conduct content audits and evaluate quantitative and qualitative data to inform content decisions and improve the user experience. Ensure copy meets quality and strategy standards, aligns with editorial guidelines. The Campaign Content Strategist will write much of their campaign copy, sometimes work with internal and freelance writers, and also edit the work of other writers.
Conceptualize and Plan Content Strategies: Develop strategies and concepts for multiple audiences and across multiple channels to create authentic and compelling stories that inform, entertain, inspire, and engage while generating brand loyalty. Utilize analytics and user research to develop content strategies aligning business and user goals. Collaborate with stakeholders and content creators throughout UW Medicine to identify pain points, advocate for improvements, and establish KPIs.
Research and Analytics: Partner to initiate and implement the results of user testing activities. Partner with the UX Content Strategist to conduct and analyze qualitative and quantitative user research to inform Content Strategies including but not limited to journey mapping, site analytics, personas, user testing, focus groups, A/B testing, and business analysis to drive improvements. Evaluate competitive and emerging approaches to identify best practices and encourage innovation.
Designing Solutions: Utilizing user research and data and content strategies, design reliable, usable and intuitive solutions such as wireframes, user flows, process improvements and information architecture diagrams to power the successful delivery of marketing campaigns.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism or related field and a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience.

Work is performed in an open office setting with noise and other distractions. The position may travel by foot or vehicle to various locations to gather information and/or assist with activities. Position maintains regular office hours Monday through Friday.
