Our 8NE ONCOLOGY department has an outstanding opportunity for a Part-Time (80% FTE or 24 hours/week, Day Shift, Saturday - Sunday) PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN position. Patient Care Technician provides direct and indirect care to patients and their families under the general supervision of the Registered Nurse. Typical duties include assisting patients with activities of daily living, maintaining a safe environment of care, preparing patients for surgery, close observation of confused patients, transportation, maintenance of equipment and supplies, and clerical tasks. PCTs may serve in several roles, including, Constant Observer and General Unit PCT.

AND
High School graduation and six months experience involving direct patient care or customer service in a health care setting; OR equivalent education/experience.
Legal Requirement
A Washington State Health Care Assistant, Level “A” certification is required within 6 months of employment. (This certification is required to perform venous blood withdrawal procedures and capillary blood glucose checks, and can be achieved through successful on-the-job training.)
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Valid BLS/CPR Card
