UWMC's Laboratory Medicine Department has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time (100%), day shift, CLINICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN 1. Under general supervision the Clinical Laboratory Technician 1 in Molecular Microbiology performs molecular laboratory procedure tasks that support the operation of the molecular section of the clinical laboratory. The individual in this position will extract DNA, operate molecular laboratory equipment, and enter data. Additionally, they will maintain a clean work area and validate results if necessary.

REQUIREMENTS:
High school graduation or equivalent AND one year of chemical, clinical, or public health laboratory experience
OR
Completion of a laboratory assistant course approved by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists
OR
equivalent education/experience.
DESIRED:
Experience in molecular biology laboratory work.
