Under the oversight of the Director of Professional Development & Nursing Excellence, the Psych CNE (clinical nurse educator) will provide education to inpatient behavioral health nursing staff for challenging patients situations, de-escalation and ongoing psychiatry training needs. Coordinate educational offerings based on the assessed learning needs of the staff. Education will include, but not be limited to real-time coaching, classroom didactics and simulated learning opportunities. Participate in data collection and research, and perform care plan coordination as needed for patients with Behavioral Health needs.

WA RN License.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Five years professional clinical nursing experience required including three years in a clinical leadership position.
• Three recent years’ experience in Behavioral Health setting.
. Experience with caring for complex patients with psychiatric diagnoses.
• Expertise in the implementation of Harm-Reduction and other evidence-based approaches in the treatment of substance abuse/dependence and mental illness.
• Demonstrated ability to be effective teaching in a multi-disciplinary setting.
• Demonstrated superior communication skills; both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated competency in the use of Windows-based computer programs.
Desired/preferred:
- Graduate degree in nursing or related field.
- Experience in the treatment of substance abuse/dependence.
- Experience working in an inpatient or academic setting.
- Knowledge of local behavioral health resources.
- Experience in conducting research, clinical inquiry and EBP projects.
- Active member of a professional organization.
- Clinical Nurse Specialist Certification.
