The Sepsis Coordinator/ Acute Care CNE will provide clinical consultation, develop standards, policies, participate in QI, provide educational services and oversee the development of HMC’s Code Sepsis program and support successful operations for patients with medical needs on our inpatient psychiatric and rehabilitation units. This person will collaborate with the institutional/ unit leadership, staff, Clinical Nurse Specialists/Clinical Nurse Educators, Advanced Practice Providers (ARNPs and PA-Cs), Quality department staff, and physicians to impact the quality of care for patients through developing and implementing care standards, policies, guidelines and protocols, 1:1 education, etc. This person will serve as a staff resource for providing complex care for to patients across the continuum. Responsible to assist in operationalizing processes, education, programs, etc. related to medical needs on inpatient psychiatric and rehabilitation units. Examples of other educational responsibilities may include new protocol creation and education, coordination of classes and provide classroom instruction within their specialty areas, etcetera.

Current WA State RN license.
BSN degree.
5 years of clinical acute care experience.
2 years clinical leadership experience; e.g. nurse manager/assistant nurse manager, charge, preceptor, research or teaching.
Demonstrated ability to analyze practice issues and implement solutions/improvements.
Demonstrated ability to develop and teach educational offerings.
Strong customer service / project management focus.
Demonstrated ability to work within multidisciplinary group setting.
Advanced written and verbal skills.
Flexibility in meeting workload demands, some evening/night and weekend rotation required.
Certification in specialty area.
DESIRED:
Graduate degree in Nursing.
Experience with caring for sepsis patients.
Strong experience in caring for patients with medical needs.
Experience in conducting research, clinical inquiry and EBP projects.
Knowledge of MS Office platform (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Knowledge of database management.
