The Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Clinical Operations Financial Analyst. The purpose of this position is to provide investigation, analysis and reporting on clinical operational finances for the Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine. They will also manage portions of the annual budgeting process. This position will review and analyze business processes as requested and provide recommendations for improvement. The Director of Finance and Administration will off-load projects to this individual, ensuring the Director has appropriate time to spend on planning, strategy and process improvements at a strategic level. This individual will report directly to the Director of Finance and Administration.
Typical work may include: clinical financial data analysis; monitoring departmental and divisional clinical revenue reports and related information; supporting the Director in monitoring trends and developing financial models. They will produce reports and analysis to assist with physician compensation models. This position will assist in developing, tracking and monitoring faculty clinical commitment and wRVUs reports.
Work may include development of specific project proposals related to operational improvements as requested by the Chair or Director, providing necessary reports regarding departmental financial performance.
Major duties of this position fall into three categories:
The complexities of this position revolve around the complexities of clinical financing and clinical operational processes. Clinical Departments have multiple sources of money that flow into them. Similarly, the uses of funds is complicated. A myriad of compliance concerns accompany all financial transactions within a large academic medical center and each of these sources and uses of funds has rules around how, when and for what the money can be used. Individuals who analyze and make recommendations on funds flow must be knowledgeable of the rules, guidelines and conventions. The individual in this position must be able to provide guidance to managers and administrators and through analysis and reporting, assist the Associate Director and Director in their overall management of the Departments’ clinical finances. They will assist in finding, analyzing and recommending solutions to issues that may be developing.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: BA in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Statistical Analysis or similar
Type and Years of Experience: 2-3 years’ experience working in finance, accounting or similar; Minimum 2 years’ experience in finance budgeting or similar and 1 year data analysis
