Community Standards and Student Conduct is seeking a student affairs professional to join our dynamic team as a Conduct Officer.
Community Standards and Student Conduct (CSSC) fosters a developmental approach to the behavioral and educational needs of UW students. Through a variety of approaches CSSC strives to maximize individual student success while upholding community standards and advancing the University's values. CSSC is guided in this work by the values of integrity, inclusiveness, and compassion.
The Conduct Officer has significant responsibility for investigating and adjudicating alleged violations of the Student Conduct Code, which occurs both on and off campus. The Conduct Officer will adjudicate both academic and behavioral misconduct. This includes determining appropriate educational sanctions for students found responsible for violating the Student Conduct Code.
The Conduct Officer will also occasionally serve as a Respondent Resource to students accused of misconduct, including sexual misconduct, by explaining the processes and procedures involved in Student Conduct proceedings, discussing academic advocacy resources, and participating in meetings with students as their resource. In addition, the Conduct Officer will have a collateral assignment in one or more functional areas. These areas include, but are not limited to: coordinating the department's efforts to be proactive about international students' success; development and assessment of learning outcomes; coordination of outreach efforts; development of marketing and communication strategies; and coordination with Fraternity and Sorority Life. The Conduct Officer will also serve as a resource to faculty and students around issues of academic integrity and classroom management.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Three years experience working with college students.
• Working knowledge of Title IX, Clery Act, and other federal and state impacts on the work of student conduct administration and higher education.
• Demonstrated strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage competing tasks and prioritize work in a dynamic environment.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except where there are legal requirements such as license/certification/registration.
Desired:
• Master’s Degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs/Student Development or other equivalent degree.
• Experience working with faculty and an ability to navigate complex systems.
• Knowledge of student development theory and ability to translate into practice of student conduct administration.
• Experience adjudicating student conduct violations in either a University level setting or a Residence Life and Housing setting.
