JOB SUMMARY:
The “New Burke” is a groundbreaking museum of natural history and culture that inspires wonder and pride about the Northwest and our place in the world. The New Burke will turn the museum inside-out–allowing visitors to see into the labs, collection storage and workrooms–and connect with new discoveries seven days a week.
The Culture Activation Coordinator will play a role in helping visitors understand the work we do in Culture by facilitating activities in labs and collections spaces and to ensure those spaces are actively performing the authentic work of our department. Connections to, experience with, knowledge of, and respect for Indigenous communities are particularly important for this position.
This position requires work on weekends, holidays, and special events to activate the Burke’s public areas.
