The Husky Union Building (HUB) serves as the center for the UW community life, and complements the student experience through an extensive variety of cultural, educational, social, and recreational programs. These programs provide the opportunity to balance course work and free time in the Husky Experience.
The HUB is pleased to announce an opening for a Full-Time Custodian to cover the following:
Evenings – 4:30 pm to 1:00 am – Friday through Tuesday; Wednesday and Thursdays off.
This position cleans restrooms, kitchens, dining rooms, meeting rooms, lounges and hallways at the HUB.
What You’ll Be Doing:
•Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, kitchens, dining rooms, meeting rooms lounges and hallways in accordance with established procedures and standards,
•Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors; emptying waste, recycle and compost containers.
•Dusting and cleaning walls, doors, windows woodwork, furniture, etc.
•Stripping, cleaning, buffing and applying finish to floors; using high-speed floor machines; vacuuming and cleaning carpets.
•Using and maintaining assigned power equipment and hand tools such as vacuum, broom, mop, squeegee, or ladder for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets and furniture.
•Vacuuming furniture, window blinds and walls.
•Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
•Physically able to perform work and 1 year of experience as a custodian.
•Equivalent combinations of education and experience may substitute for required qualifications.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except where there are legal requirements such as license/certification/registration.

•Ability to understand and produce written and verbal instructions in English.
•Ability to effectively interact and communicate in a variety of situations.
•Work independently with minimal supervision.

Condition of Employment
•A satisfactory outcome from criminal background check is required prior to hire.
