UWC² has an outstanding opportunity for a Digital Content Specialist to join their Marketing team.
The Digital Content Specialist is a key part of the marketing team at UWC². This collaborative team is responsible for promoting a range of programs that expand the reach of the UW. Some of these programs include UW Professional & Continuing Education (UWPCE), International & English Language Programs, Summer Youth, UW in the High School, Early Fall Start, Summer Quarter, and more than 100 bachelor’s and master’s degrees. In collaboration with marketing team, program managers and campus partners, the digital content specialist is responsible for writing and crafting email communications and website content for dozens of programs, and managing social media for UWPCE. The ideal candidate will be technically savvy, with stellar short-form writing skills, effective oral communications skills, an eye for visual storytelling and an ability to juggle competing priorities under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Content Management
• Collaborate with content strategist to assess customer requests for updates and changes to dozens of degree and special program websites, maintaining user-focused content that follows UW brand and style guidelines.
• Respond to web update requests, and make updates in a timely manner, publishing content using Kentico, the content management system.
• Write and optimize content for a positive user experience, ensuring content is user focused and reflects the brand and style standards.
• Select, prepare and publish images to enhance the user experience where appropriate.
• Audit content and maintain content inventory.
• Remain current on UW editorial style and brand guidelines.
Email Production
• Write email content that engages audience using brand voice and style while effectively addressing business goals.
• Select and prepare images that enhance storytelling and readability of email content, usually in collaboration with creative director.
• Develop email assets and templates in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
• Build and send a high volume of email marketing communications through the Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
• Manage and update email communications calendar.
• Measure and report on performance of email campaigns.
• Remain current on key electronic communication legislation, including CAN-SPAM and CASL laws.
Social Media
• Plan, write, prepare images and execute all social media marketing campaigns for UWPCE channels, including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
• Measure and report on performance of posts and campaigns.
• Remain current on social media trends and best practices.
• Be the go-to resource within UWC² for social media trends and best practices.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in English, communication, information management or similar and two years of experience writing user-focused content for email and/or the web.
• Experience with social media, including Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, and using a content management system, preferably Kentico.
• Ability to manage project trafficking and execution of multiple projects.
• General understanding of HTML coding, building email assets and troubleshooting issues with last-minute changes.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
• Experience with Salesforce and Salesforce Marketing Cloud or other marketing automation and customer relationship management tools.
• Experience with email marketing and knowledge of key email fundamentals, including CAN-SPAM compliance, deliverability, spam complaint rates, A/B split testing.
• Understanding of digital marketing tools such as search engine optimization and analytics.
• Understanding of how to prep images for digital use with photo editing tools such as Photoshop.
• Familiarity with higher education marketing and content marketing.
