The UW Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Northwest Center for Occupational Health and Safety (NWCOHS) serves Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. We are seeking a full-time Manager to support the mission of the Center and work closely with the interdisciplinary faculty, staff and students. The Center Manager oversees the operational components of a large federal graduate training grant, including interfacing with graduate students, participating departments, program directors, external partners, and the federal sponsor. The Center Manager is responsible for administrative oversight as detailed below, and participates in designing and implementing program and communication activities supporting the Center goals.
The Department of Environmental and Occupational Health has an outstanding opportunity for an Education and Research Center Manager. The Center Manager reports to the Center Director and Executive Committee, and performs the following activities:
Grant administration
Student liaison
Outreach activities
Recruitment

Qualifications:
Required:
•Bachelors level education in environmental health, public health, education, communications, business or related field. A minimum of 2 years of experience of increasing level of responsibility in administration and operations management.
•Advanced interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences including students, faculty, funders, and community partners
•Extremely well organized and detail oriented
•Proficient in Microsoft office products, Adobe Acrobat.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except where there are legal requirements such as license/certification/registration.
Desired:
•Master degree in public health, occupational or environmental health, labor studies, or related field
•At least 5 years of program and grant management experience, preferably in an academic setting
•Ability to lead a team, multi-task, and manage large complex programs with interdisciplinary groups of stakeholders
•A proactive problem-solver who sees what needs to be done and creates new systems to maximize the efficiency of program operations
•Familiarity with UW policies and administrative systems (ARIBA, Procard, Financial Desktop)
