The Heart Institute at UW Medical Center provides a full range of heart healthcare and prevention services. Our services include general cardiology, cardiac diagnostic imaging tests and procedures, cardiac surgery, arrhythmia management and electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, structural heart services, advanced heart failure management, heart transplant and ventricular assist devices (VADs), adult congenital heart disease management, cardiac psychiatry, cardiovascular genetics and other advanced services.
The UWMC's Heart Institute has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time, temporary/hourly, ELECTROCARDIOGRAPH TECHNICIAN 1. Under general supervision, the Electrocardiograph (ECG) Technician is responsible for preparing patients for electrocardiographic (ECG) tests, including application of various arrhythmia monitors and electrocardiographic stress testing. The ECG Technician is responsible for educating patients on basic testing procedures, properly positioning patients, electrode application, and attaching various arrhythmia monitor devices. This position is responsible for helping to develop and implement systems to assure the smooth and efficient flow of both inpatient and outpatient ECG procedures. This position may be assigned to work at any department clinical locations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process paperwork, digital data and all ancillary services related to the stress tests
REQUIREMENTS:
High school graduation or equivalent AND certified in Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation OR completion of training and certified in CPR within 4 months from date of hire
OR
equivalent education/experience.
