Washington Athletics has an outstanding opportunity for a Temporary Fan Experience & Game Presentation Graduate Assistant (Information Specialist 1).
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Fan Experience & Game Presentation Assistant reports to the Assistant Director of Marketing and Game Day Experience.
They are responsible for assisting in the overall game day promotions and experience for 22 Husky Athletics Teams. This position will be assigned as the Game Presentation Lead for Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer, and Baseball while also supporting the Game Presentation Lead for Women's Basketball and Football.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collaborate with social, digital media, and video production teams to create content that effectively presents all sponsor and departmental elements
• Assist with the training and mentoring of all Game Day Interns
• Assign intern tasks during office hours, and on game days
• Develop thematic programming and season overview for assigned sports and Car Wash video shoots leading into each season
• Collaborate with IMG, Ticketing, and Marketing Outreach to plan IMC creative content for each sport
• Write PA scripts for all staff and interns to follow during games for assigned sports listed above
• Coordinate with Band, Cheer, Mascots, UWTV, PA Announcer, DJ, and Audio Team on game days
• Book game day entertainment for assigned sports, including National Anthem and halftime performers
• Fulfill IMG and sponsor agreements in scripts and in-game promotions
The Fan Experience & Game Presentation Assistant will be asked to work 15-20 hours per week over a 12-month period. The hours for this position are flexible and can be balanced with additional part-time employment. Select evenings and weekends are required. A second 12-month term may be offered upon completion of the first.
This position must stay within the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Pacific-12 Conference, the State of Washington and any other governing body. The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations. As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or related field. Additional full-time writing/editing experience may substitute for educational requirement. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Photoshop.
DISIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of one year of professional experience in marketing, promotions, or events is ideal. Highly motivated, creative, self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills. A strong leader and mentor, especially to students.
