The department has an outstanding opportunity open for a Temporary Fan Outreach Marketing Assistant.
The Fan Outreach Marketing Assistant reports to the Assistant Director of Marketing and Fan Outreach, with the goal of using marketing and fan engagement strategies to generate revenue, increase attendance, and engage fans in a collegiate environment. This person must be willing and able to work nights and weekends throughout the academic school year. The Fan Outreach Marketing Assistant is responsible for assisting in the overall development, coordination and implantation of marketing and fan outreach for the student Dawg Pack at football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, gymnastics, and men’s and women’s soccer with a key focus on maximizing fan engagement, increasing fan attendance, and enhancing the Husky Athletics brand.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee The Purple and Gold Experience, by working with Experience App to create fan experience menus for sports as needed and assigned, and executing these fan upgrades with committed service to provide a memorable experience.
• Assist with the training and mentoring of all Fan Outreach Interns
• Assign intern tasks during office hours, and on game days
• Assist with student/on-campus engagement for football and will be responsible for planning and producing the Purple/Gold Football Spring Game.
• Additional responsibilities include: coordinating events such as National Girls & Women in Sports Day, Student Tailgates, W-Day, and Dub’s Birthday Party, game day operations, fan development and revenue generation, as well as assisting the Assistant Director of Marketing and Fan Outreach with the execution of fan surveys and focus groups.
• Communicate with sales staff and ticket office to execute sponsorship agreements and ticket promotions, as well as, partnership commitments for the Pups and Parents program and sustainability.
• Supervise student fan outreach interns at all assigned sporting events.
The Fan Outreach Marketing Assistant will be asked to work 15-20 hours per week over a 12-month period. The hours for this position are flexible and can be balanced with additional part-time employment. Select evenings and weekends are required. A second 12-month term may be offered upon completion of the first. This position must stay within the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Pacific-12 Conference, the State of Washington and any other governing body. The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations. As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or related field. Additional full-time writing/editing experience may substitute year-for-year for educational requirement.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of one year of professional experience in marketing, promotions, or events is ideal. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Photoshop. Highly motivated, creative, self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills. A strong leader and mentor, especially to students.
