The University of Washington’s School of Medicine, Division of Medical Oncology, has an excellent opportunity for a Temporary Fiscal Specialist 1 in the THN Oncology Program.
Responsibilities:
The position provides assistance to the Program Operations Manager in completing identified fiscal functions for the Division of Medical Oncology THN Oncology Team.
• Reconcile Budgets monthly using MyFinancialDesktop (MyFD), locating and matching source documents with posted expenditures, researching and resolving discrepancies.
• Maintain and update budget-tracking systems for special projects and shared budgets.
• Distribute reports to teams on scheduled basis.
• Perform monthly financial reconciliation of clinical trial budgets.
• Apply payments against activity and perform regular financial reconciliation of clinical trial activity.
• Keep up to date reports regarding outstanding revenue and expenses. Maintain an invoice log.
• Maintain complex computer spreadsheets to track study-related charges and invoiceable items.
• Review incoming invoices for accuracy, consult with research team for verification of activity, pay invoices, follow up and track invoices not received based on activity.
• Process all patient reimbursement and other reimbursements in compliance with UW, State and Federal policies through the ARIBA system.
• Maintain all fiscal documentation required for audit/regulatory compliance.
• Maintain file systems for fiscal records.
• Monitor and manage the department’s billing email.
• Perform other duties as requested.
Minimum Requirements:
Three years of fiscal record keeping experience, or equivalent education/experience.
Familiarity with UW policies and procedures such as Procurement, Travel, Budget reconciliation, etc.
Experience working with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Effective organizational, written communication, and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and concurrently on multiple projects with frequent interruption.
Possess an eagerness to work in an environment with a healthy workload of paper and electronic tasks.
Desired:
Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical research billing.
Previous experience working with University systems including ARIBA, PROCARD, My Financial Desktop, Grant Tracker, eFECs, SAGE, GCCR, Workday, etc.
Experience working in an oncology clinical research environment.
