The Fiscal Specialist 2 has a dual reporting relationship to both the UWC² (UW Continuum College) Payroll Supervisor and the UWC² Director of Accounting Operations.
This role is primarily responsible for processing complex daily payroll functions for 200 staff and approximately 800 part-time instructors in the following employment classifications: professional staff, classified staff, faculty, temporary workers, union and non-union extension lecturers, and graduate student assistants. Along with an extensive use of Excel, Workday and EOS (the UWC² instructor/student information database) are the two software systems used for performing work.
The secondary responsibility (1/3rd time) is supporting UWC² staff with questions regarding expense-related reimbursements, travel and credit-card purchases, and using non-UW vendors. This role ensures staff are compliant with University policies, and that expenses are reflected on accurate budget numbers utilizing applicable object codes.
Success in this position requires a focus on customer service, the ability to process and track multi-step complex payroll and fiscal processes, savvy Excel capabilities, ability to transition between payroll and expense-related accounting work in a deadline-driven environment, and enjoyment of working both individually and as a team.
