The Madison Clinic at HMC has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time (50%) CLINIC DATA SPECIALIST (Computer Support Analyst 2). The Clinic Data Specialist is responsible for creating data reports related to federally funded Ryan White grants, and Department of Health contracts. The primary responsibilities include transforming and combining data from multiple, disparate hospital systems. This position is located in Madison Clinic, Harborview Medical Center.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
DATA MANAGEMENT
Identify, analyze, and anticipate reporting needs
Design data flows to meet current and future needs
Create clinical quality reports
Ensure accuracy, security, and accessibility of data
Create automated and ad hoc reports
PROGRAMMING
Be knowledgeable about UW Medicine systems, especially the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), and Epic
Work with the Ryan White leadership team to determine the most efficient data collection system
Integrate data from various hospital systems to meet grant deliverables
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Provide data support for the Ryan White Part C & D grants, including Clinical Quality Management (CQM), Outreach, and HIV Testing programs
Provide data support for Department of Health’s (DOH) satellite clinic and walk-in clinic programs
Work closely with the Clinic’s grants and contracts manager, with regard to data needs and grant requirements
Interface with the data managers of Social Work, Center for Aids Research (CFAR), Department of Health (DOH), and HMC’s business analyst
REQUIREMENTS:
Three years of experience in programming and/or computer support services of a technical nature OR One year of experience as Computer Support Analyst I OR equivalent education/experience
Desired:
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Social Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related job experience
Preferably 3 years of data management experience in a complex information systems environment
Ability to rapidly and independently acquire new skills to meet changing needs
Demonstrated practical understanding of programming languages and related technologies
At minimum, an intermediate level of MS-Access (SQL queries and reports)
OR preferably some experience using SQL Server (Transact-SQL, SSIS and SSRS)
Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
Strong teamwork and communication skills
The position requires bringing together data from multiple data systems. The objectives of this position can be accomplished in a MS-Access or SQL Server data environment, depending on knowledge and skill level.
Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMRs)
