The Washington Athletics is seeking a Temporary Graphic Design Assistant
The Graphic Design Assistant will be responsible for assisting the University of Washington Athletics creative staff with the preparation of departmental design and layout projects. Assignments will include promotional flyers, emails, web graphics and social media announcements. This position will also assist with the creation of posters, videoboard graphics, ads and other original artwork, by assembling and preparing photos and other graphical elements as needed.
The Graphic Design Assistant will be asked to work 5-15 hours per week through the conclusion of the academic year. Hours for this position are flexible. Select evenings and weekends may be required.
Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Pac-12 Conference, the State of Washington and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University. The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations. As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
REQUIREMENTS:
One year of applicable college-level training in graphics design, or equivalent art school training AND one year of experience as a Graphic Illustrator OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop or Illustrator and relevant college level training in graphic design. Highly motivated, creative, self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of one year of experience in athletics marketing, promotions, or graphic design.
