The Eye Institute at Harborview Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for a HEALTH SERVICES MANAGER. The Health Services Manager will manage a multi-million budget and daily operations of the Eye Institute and 4W Opthalmology Clinic, ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and practice standards, and ensure a high-quality patient experience for all patients seen in the Eye Institute and 4W Ophthalmology clinic. The Eye Institute and 4W Opthalmology clinic are open five days per week 8:00 to 5:00 PM and 4W Opthalmology clinic is a resident run clinic.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee daily operations of the clinic including managing staff and supply/equipment inventory:
- Point of contact for any/all issues related to the imaging equipment/lasers working with IT and CE contacts for resolution.
- Coordinate supply chain and pharmacy inventory with appropriate resources.
- Work with the other managers of clinics that are part of the Eye Institue to coordinate staffing between both the Eye Institute, the Retina Center at SLU and the Eye clinic at UWMC as necessary.
- Responsible for all ordering of supplies, including working with vendors and central supply services, which includes ordering office supplies, patient care supplies.
- Collaborate with the faculty on operation issues.
- Assure Triage process is functioning effectively
Assure Front End processes are functioning effectively.
Budgeting/Marketing and Accounts Payable:
- Budget oversight and variance analysis.
- Responsible for maintaining budget with leadership to set goals and to ensure budget compliance.
- Work with marketing and vendors to ensure compliance standards are met.
Staffing and Human Resources (Time Management, Decision-Making, and Problem-Solving):
- Responsible for recruitment and hiring.
- Will provide formal and informal performance feedback.
- Set schedules for all employees.
- Maintain employee time cards.
- Rounding on all employees.
- Responsible for training and development of all staff.
- Responsible for corrective actions and working with Director on separations.
Patient Care Management:
- Including rounding, patient complaints, billing complaints.
- Position will be expected to round on patients (customers daily).
- Ensure that Patients are First goals are met at all times.
DESIRED:
Experience in an academic setting and with a safety net population.
Skills to create and manage clinical trial budgets, operations, and reporting.
