UW Medicine Laboratory Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a Health Services Manager, Microbiology. This individual will manage the clinical laboratory including testing in, but not limited to, serology, specimen processing, urinalysis, body fluids, STAT viral testing, and antibiotic testing; supervise clinical technologists and ancillary staff; manage quality assurance/improvement, preventive maintenance, safety, continuing education, and student programs in Laboratory Medicine. Budget responsibilities include participating in budget development, recommending budget goals based on prior performance and known upcoming expenses, and managing division expenditures to maintain expected budget. The Health Services Manager, Microbiology is responsible to the Clinical Lab Director and Division Head of Clinical Microbiology Division, Laboratory Medicine.
REQUIREMENTS:
Master's degree in medical technology or equivalent field applicable to the laboratory division WITH certification with the American Society of Clinical Pathologist or equivalent, or certification with specialty organization appropriate to the laboratory division, AND four (4) years of progressively responsible clinical technologist experience including two years in a lead capacity. Bachelor's degree in medical technology or an equivalent field AND two (2) additional years of lead experience may substitute for the Master's degree. Ph.D. in an equivalent field with demonstrated management experience may substitute for the certification with ASCP or equivalent.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements.
