Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has an outstanding job opportunity for two (2) Temporary Part Time Information Specialist 1(Fan Experience & Game Presentation Assistant)

Position Description:

The Fan Experience & Game Presentation Assistant reports to the Assistant Director of Marketing, Fan Experience & Game Presentation.  The Fan Experience & Game Presentation Assistant is responsible for assisting in the overall game day promotions and experience for 22 Husky Athletics Teams.  This position will be assigned as the Game Presentation Lead for select Olympic sports, while assisting for football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball.

Job Duties:

Develop programming and season overview to include videoboard content, on-field/court recognitions, halftime shows, sponsor activities, in-game promotions, fan contests, and other entertainment elements.

Plan and execute game scripts for assigned sports which includes communicating game information with Stage Managers, Interns, Band, Cheer, Mascots, UWTV, PA Announcer, DJ, and audio team.

Collaborate with Huskies Sports Properties, Ticketing, Marketing Outreach, and Creative and Digital to plan IMC creative content for each sport.

Collaborate with social, digital media, and video production teams to create content that effectively presents all Huskies Sports Properties and departmental elements during games.

Assist with the training and mentoring of all student interns.

Assign student intern tasks during office hours and game days.

Maintain and manage marketing budgets for assigned sports.

Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Pac-12 Conference, the State of Washington and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University.  The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations.  As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Requirements:

Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or related field.  Additional full-time writing/editing experience may substitute for educational requirement.

Additional Requirements:

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Photoshop.

Desired Qualifications:

One year of professional experience in marketing, promotions, or events is ideal.  Highly motivated, creative, self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills.  A strong leader and mentor, especially to students.

Work Schedule:

The Fan Experience & Game Presentation Assistant will be asked to work approximately 15-20 hours per week over a 12-month period.  The hours for this position are flexible and can be balanced with additional part-time employment.  Select evenings and weekends are required.
