The Department of Health Services has an excellent opportunity for a full time Instructional Designer responsible for leading and supporting development of courses in the expanding Online Executive Master of Public Health (EMPH) degree program. With guidance from the EMPH leadership team, and in collaboration with other leadership positions in the Department of Health Services and School of Public Health, this position will create a new design blueprint for the program, adapt existing in-person courses to fully online delivery, and transition existing online courses to the new design model. The position will also be tasked with leading development of a course evaluation plan, and directly managing and ensuring that milestones in the development process are met.

Duties and Responsibilities:
•Assist with curriculum/course content analysis as new courses are integrated into a two-year, prescribed curricula;
•Support leadership team in assessment of technology needs and evaluation of best practices in creation of course technology blueprint
•Develop and implement, with direction from the program leadership team, a course development and faculty training playbook
•Lead course development using ADDIE, SAM or other instructional design model to ensure timely delivery of online courses within a multi-year ramp up of degree program concentrations; provide one-to-one training of faculty to develop new online courses and ensure delivery of high-quality educational experiences
•Create and format instructional materials
•Develop and implement, with direction from the program leadership team, a quality measurement and evaluation model for assessing outcomes of fully online courses
•Develop effective relationships with faculty from different disciplinary backgrounds, and who have varying levels of experience with teaching online
•Manage development of new media assets for courses/course content
•Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Education, Communications, or similar field
•3 years of experience developing and designing professional or academic content/training
•Advanced LMS administration skills, on platforms such as Canvas
•Experience with remote meeting software, such as Zoom
•Experience with lecture-capture software, such as Panopto
•Knowledge of narrative media development (storyboarding) strategies and technologies
•Ability to work with faculty with diverse levels of experience with online educational environments
•Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
•Creative problem-solving skills
•Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except where there are legal requirements such as license/certification/registration.
Desired Qualifications:
•Advanced training or coursework in instructional design, education, communications or related field
•Familiarity with the Quality Matters Online Instructor Skill Set (OISS) an other QM rubrics
•Experience working in an academic, faculty-driven culture
