UW Bothell has an outstanding opportunity for an IT Project Manager.
The IT Project Manager leads and manages multiple projects having campus-wide impacts, and of moderate to high complexity, throughout the full project lifecycle; works with cross-functional teams to meet project objectives through the implementation of new or changed technologies and/or business processes; assembles project teams, assigns responsibilities, manages schedules and resources, and guides stakeholder expectations to ensure timeline completion of projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Domain Knowledge and Skills:
• Plan and lead campus-wide projects of moderate to high complexity.
• Manages multiple IT projects simultaneously; is adaptable to address shifting or competing priorities to meet deadlines.
• Serves as the single point of contact for facilitation and communication of project definitions, budgets, work breakdowns, project plans, communication plans, project goals, deliverables and schedules; develops, distributes and maintains project plan; actively communicates project status; actively communicate project status for all projects; assemble and coordinate project teams; conduct regular project meetings.
• Works collaboratively with the UW Bothell campus community, relevant UW-IT service providers and external vendors; interacts regularly with leadership, project sponsors, and stakeholders.
• Demonstrates Project Management best practices, processes, and principles while accounting for organizational maturity and resource constraints.
• Expert in running efficient and productive meetings, as well as taking thorough notes to capture action items and decisions.
• Guides stakeholders through the development of requirements, technical specifications and/or work breakdown structures.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills; delivers high quality of work with attention to detail.
• Coach/mentor IT staff on Project Management skill development and best practices for small to moderate sized projects.
• Participation on relevant committees, peer groups, and/or communities of practice.
Communications:
• Prepare and present relevant project management artifacts and reports throughout the project lifecycle.
• Proactively communicate project updates, status, blockers, etc to management.
• Provide written/verbal updates to senior management (as needed/requested) Utilize influence, negotiation, conflict management, and emotional intelligence.
• Promote open communication in a manner that builds relationships.

• Delivers IT services (and technology) with a customer-focus, and in the service of our campus mission.
• Build relationships and collaborate with our colleagues in UW-IT; find ways to leverage existing UW-IT services.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Education, Policy Studies, Social Sciences, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience leading/managing projects.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Effectively run project team meetings.
• Strong organizational skills,
• Attention to detail.
• Able to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement project management best practices and standards.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to work in multiple project management frameworks.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
• Experience managing and communicating change.
• Experience with business process improvement.
• Experience in Higher Education.
• ITIL Certification. PMP Certification.
• Knowledge of IT Systems and Services.
Conditions of employment:

• Ability to travel to UW Seattle (as needed).
