UW-IT is the central IT organization for the University of Washington, providing technology solutions to all three campuses, UW medical centers and global research operations. UW-IT collaborates with University partners to advance teaching, learning, innovation and discovery at the UW. UW-IT is currently looking for a Lead Software Engineer who will support the UW-IT work on Finance Transformation, the University’s large scale project to modernize its finance operations, business systems and processes. The position is a role in the newly established UW-IT FT program (ITF).
The Lead Developer will have responsibility to contribute toward implementation of a large implementation effort with the new Finance system – Workday's Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) system. A set of financial data systems will need to be updated or developed to handle and address the changing needs of the finance process across the University of Washington. This position will work closely with business and technical teams to ensure that correct functionality is developed and allows the university to continue financial operations. The Sr. Software Engineer will develop solutions using a standard quality driven approach. The position will escalate gaps or trade-offs in designs across technical and non-technical audiences using effective communication skills. The Software Engineer will lead end-to-end Software Development efforts within a complex enterprise-level environment and are experienced in development tools and methods. The Sr. Software Engineer will have experience working closely with analysts, testers and PMs to develop a comprehensive solution that will support the ITF program and the university maintaining business continuity. Have the ability to forecast resources and level of effort to maintain program development on track and ready to deliver on time.
REQUIREMENTS:
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

This position on the Finance Transformation Project is temporarily funded; continued employment is contingent on ongoing funding and performance.
