The objective of UW Medicine Supply Chain Management is to ensure our patient care experience is enhanced by delivering a robust foundation of services, operational and technical support, and the sharing of comprehensive, relevant, and highly specialized supply chain management expertise.
Supply Chain Management has an outstanding opportunity for a TEMPORARY/HOURLY MAIL RATER. The Mail Rater works in the Harborview Mailroom and is responsible for rating domestic and foreign mail for proper postage and is expected to have knowledge of United States Postal Service regulations.
Mail Rater duties include:
- Process bulk and individual outgoing mail from departments to domestic and foreign areas that require postage and/or special mailing classifications.
- Determine correct postage rates for mail.
- Answer questions from Harborview faculty, staff, and students on proper mailing rates and schedules.
- Sort all incoming US mail, campus, and interdepartmental mail.
- Maintain the security of incoming and outgoing mail.
- Process incoming US and special mail (i.e., UPS & Federal Express) in a timely manner.
- Process interdepartmental and campus mailing in a timely manner to guarantee same-day pickup by mail vendor.
- Maintain mailroom supply inventory and order supplies when needed.
- Stay informed on USPS rules and regulation pertaining to the processing of outgoing mail.
- Stay informed of institutional changes of staff and departmental locations.
- Request training if unsure of certain procedures.
- Promote UW Medicine Supply Chain Management organizational philosophy.
- Perform related duties as needed.
Six months of additional experience or training as a Mail Rater, or equivalent, may substitute for required education.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
