The School of Nursing has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Manager of Strategic Initiatives. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the general scope of duties and responsibilities include performing a broad range of activities related to the School's strategic initiatives, projects and events management. This position will act in an advisory and supporting capacity to the UW School of Nursing (SoN) Executive Operations Committee, which consists of the Dean, Executive Assistant to the Dean, and executive leaders from the Student and Academic Services, Learning and Information Technologies, Finance Administration and Human Resources, Advancement, and Marketing and Communications offices.
This position will help align and support the Committee’s objectives of facilitating, managing, and executing strategic initiatives, projects, and events set by the Dean. As well, this position will assist the Committee perform the following: gather and review investment data in order to prioritize, strategize and evaluate returns to recommend to the Dean. The position plays a crucial role in the monitoring and management of school-wide progress on strategic goals, projects, and events, and is responsible for the effective follow through of all projects and initiatives set forth by the Dean and Committee. This position will research, compile and analyze data, statistics and other information related to ongoing projects and initiatives. The role will represent and serve as a SoN ambassador, liaising with constituents across campus and with local, national, and international stakeholders.
SoN is one of the nation’s top-ranked nursing schools in the country and a national and international leader in improving the health and well-being of individuals, families and communities through education, research and service. It is also one of the top schools in nursing research funding from the NIH and other sponsoring institutions. This position uses critical analysis skills to provide information and direction that will advance the organization's strategic agenda. Additionally, this position develops and maintains professional relationships with key external constituents; serves as a liaison for the SoN on strategic initiatives and as an ambassador for the SoN to advance partnerships and collaborations.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field AND 4-5 years of applicable experience.
Additional Requirements:
•Experience with complex project planning: organization, logistics, and communication; in addition, ability to create and synthesize project outcome reports
•Professionalism and discretion
•Excellent communication and verbal skills, at all levels, including diverse backgrounds and cultures, in-person, written, and electronically
•Ability to work independently and within a team setting when collaboration is required
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except where there are legal requirements such as license/certification/registration.

•Master’s degree in a relevant field
•Experience with nursing or medical field
•Experience working with donors
Conditions of Employment: position will work an agreed upon weekly schedule, upon hire. But at times of high productivity or because of event obligations, evening, weekend, or early mornings may be required to accomplish School of Nursing goals. In addition, travel to various sites and/or cities may be required.
