Harborview Medical Center's 2 West Clinics (2WC) - Madison, Infectious Diseases, Allergy, and Hansen’s Disease Clinics has an outstanding opportunity for a 50% Part-Time (20 hours/week) MEDICAL ASSISTANT. This individual will also assist the Madison Clinic which provides primary care to HIV patient Clinic's healthcare professionals in the delivery of high quality patient care. The Madison Clinic is a fast paced and high volume academic, research and patient care setting which requires a strong emphasis on accuracy, collaboration, Teamwork, and problem solving abilities.
Job Summary
Medical Assistants perform duties to assist health care professionals in the examination and treatment of patients, including: preparing the patient and the environment for treatment; meeting the communication needs of patients and family; conducting basic diagnostic tests; providing patient care coordination, and patient education. Communicates with physicians and team members about patient’s clinical condition including symptoms and results of diagnostic tests. Completes follow-up as directed by provider. As a member of the health care team, the Medical Assistant helps to create a culture of professional excellence and helps to maintain an environment that respects cultural, economic, ethnic and lifestyle differences of patients and staff. General supervision is provided by the manager or designee. Supervision for tasks performed under a Medical Assistant’s Health Care Assistant Certification is the responsibility of the clinic medical director or designee. Physicians, health care specialists, and RNs provide immediate supervision of services performed by Medical Assistants under provider’s orders for specific patients.
