University of Washington Medical Center's Sports Medicine Center located at the Husky Stadium has an outstanding opportunities for Full-Time (40 hour/week) MEDICAL ASSISTANTS. This position may require some Saturdays. UW Medicine's Sports Medicine Center healthcare professionals have years of experience working side-by-side in a collaborative team-based environment to provide care for youth, collegiate and professional athletes as well as weekend warriors. Members of our staff are the team physicians for the UW Huskies, Seattle Seahawks, various Seattle Public High Schools, the Seattle Marathon, and the Rock N Roll Seattle Marathon.
Medical Assistants perform duties to assist health care professionals in the examination and treatment of patients, including: preparing the patient and the environment for treatment; meeting the communication needs of patients and family; conducting basic diagnostic tests; providing patient care coordination, patient education and clerical/reception functions. Communicates with physicians and team members about patient’s clinical condition, including symptoms and results of diagnostic tests. Completes follow-up as directed by provider. As a member of the health care team, the Medical Assistant helps to create a culture of professional excellence and helps to maintain an environment that respects cultural, economic, ethnic and lifestyle differences of patients and staff. General supervision is provided by the manager or designee. Physicians, health care specialists, and RNs provide immediate supervision of services performed by Medical Assistants under provider’s orders for specific patients.
