Position Purpose
The Membership Coordinator is responsible for supporting membership processing, events, drives, and benefit partners for Alumni and Stakeholder Engagement and the UW Alumni Association membership program.
To fulfill the duties of the position, the Membership Coordinator interacts directly with vendors, service providers and University staff, students, alumni and UWAA members.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Coordination
The Membership Coordinator will be involved with UWAA member drives, with an emphasis on supporting the Class of 2019 Drive. This includes processing, packet stuffing and working events related to the Drive.
Events Coordination
The Membership Coordinator will be tasked with supporting events through prep work and post-event support including gathering feedback and statistical data. Events include communication with UWAA members, university volunteers, faculty, donors, the business community and other members of the internal University community.
Administrative
The Membership Coordinator will be responsible for processing UWAA memberships and fulfillment, on an as needed basis.
The Membership Coordinator will be tasked with pulling data that will help steward current members, as well as give insight on potential future members.
The Membership Coordinator will be tasked with limited duties at the Washington Commons front desk.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
High school graduation or equivalent and two years of experience in the program specialty or equivalent education/experience.
Experience in development or fundraising/advancement setting or alumni/volunteer coordination.
Ability to work independently, problem solve, take initiative, set priorities and handle multiple projects efficiently and effectively. Takes responsibility and initiative to set and meet the goals, objectives and obligations while representing the mission, visions and values of the organization.
Proficiency using PC computers. Demonstrated strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for correspondence, special reports, spreadsheets
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Cubicle/Open workspace environment, which may result in additional or higher levels of noise and visual distractions.
A valid Washington State driver’s license is required to operate the UW Alumni Association Van.
Candidate selected must have personal transportation and be willing to travel when necessary.
Ability to lift 30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally for event setup and tear down.
During Events (from setup to tear down) or on Event days:
- Ability to stand 4 or more hours continuously.
- Ability to walk 4 or more hours continuously.
- Ability Standing: duration of 4+ hours for events.
Ability to work evening and weekend hours, as necessary, on short or limited notice.
