UW Video has an outstanding opportunity open for a Temporary Motion Graphics Artist.
The Motion Graphics Artist works with Producers and production clients to create, design and animate motion graphic elements into a completed video program. This position will coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure that the projects assigned to them are delivered on time, on budget and are acceptable to the customer and the Producer. The Motion Graphics Artist will work with both University and non-University clients and with production staff to develop technically accurate and aesthetically pleasing video programs.
Typical Responsibilities:
• Exercise creative judgement and utilize contemporary graphic editing techniques
• Create, design and animate graphics content, creating compelling video that engages viewing audiences
• Stick to project deadlines while adhering to the project budget set by the Producer
• Meet with clients to define and review media timelines
• Follow department and UW wide branding guidelines for video content
General Skills:
• Deep understanding of the art of storytelling through motion graphics, video and music/audio.
• Expert level proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite video products (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects & Audition)
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D modeling techniques and compositing 3D elements within After Effects a plus
• Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator)
• Ability to concept both independently and collaboratively and present ideas effectively
• Knowledge of all aspects of video post-production
• Must be reliable and show up on time for scheduled call times
• Must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and as part of a team
Minimum Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of experience. Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications.
Minimum 3 years of experience utilizing current graphic editing systems (Adobe AfterEffects).
