TITLE: ARNP/PA - Orthopedics (Ortho Pelvis Service Team)
RESPONSIBLE TO: Medical Director or Attending Physician for medical issues; and to Assistant Director of ARNPs/PAs, Patient Care Services for administrative issues.
SUMMARY: Under general administrative supervision of the Assistant Director, the APP provides clinical expertise to patients and their families, is a resource person for health care providers, and participates in research and teaching programs. Work is performed in the Inpatient Care Units and Emergency Department 24 Hour/7 days a week with general independence and decision-making responsibility under the general guidance of the attending physicians, chief resident and department Nurse Manager. Guidelines include general policy procedures and practice guidelines established by the department and Harborview Medical Center.
Nurse Practitioner:
Masters or Doctorate Degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing;
and Washington State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License with prescriptive privileges;
and
National certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner;
and BLS certification.
OR
Physician Assistant:
Licensure as a Physician’s Assistant in the State of Washington with national certification from a national certifying body (NCCPA);
and BLS certification.
Applicant must be eligible to receive hospital staff appointments for adjunct staff membership by the Organized Medial Staff of the hospital under Medical Staff By-Laws for hospital-based positions.
