University of Washington Physicians (UWP) is the practice group for more than 1,800 physicians and other healthcare professionals associated with UW Medicine. In addition to UWP, UW Medicine includes Harborview Medical Center, UW Medical Center, UW Neighborhood Clinics, Northwest Hospital, the UW School of Medicine, Valley Medical Center, and Airlift Northwest. UWP members also practice at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, a partnership of UW Medicine, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, and Seattle Children’s Hospital.

The Patient Account Representative 1 (Clerk) is responsible for the timely response, invoicing and follow-up of Attorney requests for billing records. In addition, s/he he is responsible for the scanning, distributing, and filing of the department correspondence and maintaining historical correspondence for UWP by filing and archiving as necessary

Essential Duties:
•     Supports Department Managers/Supervisors and others in clerical duties
•     Updates and maintains reports
•     Prints, organizes and sends appeal letters & supporting documentation to various payors
•     Submits medical records to various payers
•     Works and maintains various Clerical workqueues
•     Distributes incoming faxes and correspondence to the appropriate party
•     Scans, documents and attaches correspondence to the appropriate accounts
•     Provide back-up support for other PFS Administrative Support positions.
•     Perform other duties, as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: •     High School graduation or equivalent AND one year of experience in patient accounting, customer service, or a related office environment OR equivalent education/experience.
