UWMC Patient Nutrition department has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time (40 hours per week), day shift, DIETARY UNIT AIDE.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the Program Support Supervisor and Food Service Supervisor, the Ambassador presents menus and instructs patients on the meal ordering process. The Ambassador will need to evaluate the patient’s ability to access and function in the Room Service Dining program. Assistance is provided to patients and/or caregivers in placing meal orders. The Ambassador serves patient meals and nourishments; ensures food is handled safely and patient meal trays are delivered accurately. Actively contributes to team process, maintains cooperative work environment and works to improve quality of service provided to patients.

REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of, or eligible to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment, and one year of food service experience in a health care setting.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
