The Department of Health Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Temporary Program Assistant to work for the Latino Center for Health on a new NIH-funded study. The mission of the Latino Center for Health is to promote the health and well-being of Latinos through community-engaged research. This position will provide professional skills and input for the ALMA study, which will evaluate the efficacy of a health promotion intervention to reduce depression and anxiety among Latina immigrant women. This position will collaborate with the Principal Investigator, Research Coordinator, and the participating organizations in coordinating study activities for this intervention. Due to the study population, the Program Assistant must be fluent in English and Spanish.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide childcare at community sites
• Support on-site study activities through session set up & clean up, checking in participants, coordinating supplies and food, and material preparation.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of full-time clerical experience, OR equivalent education/experience
• Bilingual in Spanish and English
• Six months experience working with children and/or as a babysitter
• Experience working in Latino communities
Desired:
• One year of experience working in an academic, public health, health care, or social service organization
• Experience working in a childcare center
Conditions of Employment:
This position requires some flexibility in the work schedule, including availability in the evening due to the nature of research activities.
