The Department of Biobehavioral Nursing and Health Systems has an outstanding opportunity for a Program Operations Specialist. This position combines two roles: Department Pre Award specialist and program manager of the Center for Innovation in Sleep Self Management (CISSM). In the first role, he/she will handle the submission of grants and contracts within the Department of Biobehavioral Nursing and Health Informatics, and in the second role, he/she will manage the operations of CISSM for the School of Nursing.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Pre Award submission: This position will identify external funding development opportunities for faculty, partner with faculty to organize plans and budgets for grant and contract proposals, prepare components of proposals, coordinate with campus and sponsor personnel, and manage proposals to completion. He/she will manage initiation and start up, including IRB, just in time responses, budget revisions, changes in scope, personnel or sites, and transition of the project from pre-award to post award management He/she will provide instruction and coaching to faculty, staff and students, assess their progress in these parts of the program, and take appropriate action. When competitive renewals, supplements or extensions are needed, he/she will provide the same services, training, assessments, and level of management.
CISSM operations: This position will manage the operations of a multi-faceted center with a mission to advance nursing sciences through the development, testing and implementation of interventions developed by UW faculty, and a scope that involves technology, education, pilot projects, advisory groups, publishing and other forms of dissemination. He/she will manage a multitude of budgets and sub budgets, assist with hiring actions, establish procedures, and deal with a variety of administrative aspects of the center.
Compliance: For both roles, this position will investigate compliance requirements, establish appropriate practices to ensure compliance, and assess the effectiveness of those practices. Areas may include human and animal subjects (IRB), tech transfer, data management plans, import/export, publications (PMCID), effort reporting, etc.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in business mgt, education, health sciences, public administration or a related field and two to three years of related experience.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except where there are legal requirements such as license/certification/registration.
