The Department of Health Services has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Project Manager with an interest in research. This position will report to the Principal Investigator and manage a program that comprises multiple research projects requiring exceptional project management skills and collaboration with multiple faculty and coordinators at sites where research takes place. These research projects include:
•Regulatory and human factors (or usability) studies related to the Center for Dialysis Innovation (CDI), which is attempting to design and produce a personalized, mobile dialysis device that would work as well as a normal human kidney, thus freeing patients from the current main mode of dialysis in centers three times per week with poor quality of life.
•Studies in the cost and comparative effectiveness of therapies related to cystic fibrosis, a disease that heretofore was rapidly fatal and now has an array of drugs and biologics that markedly extend survival.
Aspects of other studies in surgery and comparative effectiveness research may also come under the purview of the Project Manager.
Housed in the UW School of Public Health, the Department of Health Services is a dynamic academic and research department with the mission of working with partners in public health and health care to prepare leaders, design solutions, and conduct innovative research that is translated into practice and policy. The Department is steadfast in its efforts to improve and promote the health of all populations, and staff contribute daily and directly to the work of faculty, students, researchers and other staff, providing support and expertise to the Department's common cause.
