The University of Washington’s Division of General Internal Medicine (GIM) is considered to be among the top five Divisions of General Internal Medicine in the nation. General Internal Medicine, established in 1985, has rapidly grown to be the largest Division in the UW Department of Medicine. The Division has a workforce of approximately 400, including nearly 300 faculty members who are known for their outstanding research, teaching and patient care.
GIM has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Project Manager.
The UW Medicine Center for Scholarship in Patient Care Quality and Safety (Center) is a home for collaborative scholarship and projects that maximize the quality, safety, and value of healthcare delivered by faculty. Founded in 2012, the Center has grown in depth and breadth and collaborates with other departments and department leaders. The Center directs a number of important programs, including the Certificate Program in Patient Safety and Quality, the Patient Safety Innovations Program, the Center Scholars program, and supports the development and implementation of a number of large-scale research projects. These projects are important to the Division, Department as well as UW Medicine and nationally because the mission of these projects train future care givers in quality improvement, patient safety and value based care processes. With a multi-million dollar budget, the Center is a hub for collaborators with other departments and programs across the University of Washington including UW Risk Management, as well as the region and nationally, to further patient safety research and quality patient care initiatives.
The Division of General Internal Medicine with the UW Medicine Center for Scholarship in Patient Care Quality and Safety has a great opportunity for a full-time Project Manager. The Project Manager performs professional level program administration and management, which requires independent judgement and decision-making. This position is responsible for independently controlling logistics and day-to-day operations of key programs within the UW Medicine Center for Scholarship in Patient Care Quality and Safety and activities for the UW Department of Medicine Associate Chair for Quality Improvement, Patient Safety, and Value. The Project Manager is responsible for managing several core programs in the Center including, planning, financial oversight, and process improvements for the Certificate Program in Patient Safety and Quality, UW Medicine Quality Improvement Bootcamps, Patient Safety Innovations Program (PSIP), Patient Experience Taskforce, and the Center Scholars Program.
