JOB SUMMARY
This Staff Nurse is a licensed practitioner who uses the nursing process to provide patient care. This includes exercising independent nursing judgment in managing the care of patients with complex health problem(s) and collaborating with patient, family and other healthcare providers/disciplines in the admission and discharge process for patients undergoing any procedural based care within the hospital.
This RN is responsible for providing triage assessment, nursing diagnosis, and evaluating all aspects of nursing care for each discipline within the procedural areas (Endoscopy, Electrophysiology, Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology and Cardiac Procedure Unit). The emphasis of care is to review all pertinent patient health history, physician orders and patient needs to formulate and prioritize a plan for the procedural care. This RN will show initiative and seek knowledge to improve patient pre procedure processes and will coordinate with all members of the interdisciplinary care team. Attention to detail and excellent communication skills are necessary in order to ensure the admission process is complete prior to all procedures.
This position may require the performance of procedural sedation including pre and post procedure care.
