UW Medical Center - Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for a REGISTERED NURSE to join their Geropsychiatric Unit. This position is night shift, 12 hours per shift, per diem, variable nights.

Registered nurses work collaboratively as part of a professional and medical team that includes doctors, social workers, care managers and therapists. They work to restore the patients’ health by following evidence-based nursing practices, exercising independent judgement and managing complex health issues. Nurses provide physical and psychological support to patients and delegate tasks to ancillary team members. Typical RN duties include identification of care needs and individualized care planning, assessing/monitoring physical parameters, inserting intravenous catheters, monitoring and administering medications/ intravenous infusions all to help optimize the patient’s recovery to health, ensure high quality care and provide a safe hospital environment.

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Washington

  • DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Recent experience in psychiatric nursing or mental health nursing
