The ECHO PATHWAYS study is a complex epidemiological project involving five Co-Principal Investigators at four separate institutions, three distinct epidemiological cohorts which are following more than 3000 mother-child dyads, ten subcontracts, six geographical locations for sample collection, and a dual mission of achieving study-specific objectives and working with NIH and investigators around the country to shape and implement a national ECHO study protocol. The researcher will be expected to carry out high quality, accurate work in a multi-faceted research environment where command of quantitative details is essential. The ideal candidate will be organized, flexible, and self-motivated with a desire to learn, good communication skills, and the ability to work and thrive in a diverse, interdisciplinary academic research environment. Working under the direct supervision of a senior level scientist, the Research Consultant will perform the following duties:
• Coordinate transfer of data from University of Washington to the central NIH repository. This task will involve organizing, compiling, documenting, transmitting, and tracking multiple large datasets.
• Communicate with ECHO PATHWAYS scientists, as needed, to get guidance on data harmonization.
• Conduct data quality assurance procedures on data sets generated by other data analysts to ensure accurate, analyzable data files.
• Produce material to describe data and analytic results, such as tables, maps and figures.
• Contribute to reports, peer reviewed manuscripts, publications, and presentations.
• Attend and contribute to regular data team and project meetings.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in demography, epidemiology, health policy, statistics, biostatistics, geography, sociology or related field. Up to one year of experience working in public health related research; proficient with Microsoft office products including Excel and Word; experience with data collected in a research setting.
Preferred Experience includes:
Previous experience managing and analyzing complex datasets, two or more years of experience with R, SAS, Stata, and/or Python, familiarity with human subjects research, and an interest in public health research including maternal and child health research
