The Department of Health Services has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time (75% FTE) Research Coordinator to work with Magaly Ramirez, PhD, a new Assistant Professor in Health Services and affiliate member of the UW Latino Center for Health. Dr. Ramirez studies how to design and implement health information technology to accelerate adoption of evidence-based care, especially among underserved Latino patients and their family caregivers. The Research Coordinator will support activities across multiple projects in the areas of health information technology, family caregiving of older adults, and Latino health.
This position will primarily coordinate a study using human-centered design and qualitative research methods to convert an evidence-based caregiver program into digital form and to adapt the program for Latino caregivers. The program targets family caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease. Kaiser Permanente Washington will implement and test the technology-enabled caregiver program in a randomized trial.
In addition, the Research Coordinator may coordinate smaller studies across Dr. Ramirez’s research portfolio, in the areas of health information technology, family caregiving of older adults, and Latino health.
