The Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Research Coordinator position. The position will support various research projects related to pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) in the Stekler Lab.

Direct day-to-day research-related activities.
Draft research protocols, operations procedures, and data collection materials.
Draft, finalize and submit Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications, study consent forms, study modification requests and status reports.
Communicate with Human Subjects Division (HSD) about questions and problems, as needed.
Submit study modifications to the IRB, as needed.
Program study surveys and monitor data collection and management.
Develop study materials, including recruitment and educational materials.
Coordinate and purchase research-related supplies
Design and develop data management strategies for tracking participant progress, contractual deliverables and study results
Design and develop data collection forms, protocols, standard operating procedures, and surveys
Develop budgets and interface with Fiscal staff on grant applications
Monitor and manage research expenditures
Human subjects management
Perform qualitative research activities, including facilitating focus groups and interviewing participants and coding transcripts using qualitative software.
Maintain confidentiality of study records.
Manage communications with internal research team and outside collaborators.
Obtain and document informed consent for study participation, as needed.
Maintain professionalism and the highest standards of research ethics during all communications with participants.
Transport specimens as needed.
Audit research activities to ensure compliance with local research ethics standards.
Analysis and presentation of research results
Conduct basic quantitative data analysis, generating data tables and summary statistics.
Contribute to the development of manuscripts, reports, and presentations.

Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Biology, Psychology or related field plus a minimum 2 years of experience in:
Project management and/or human subjects research experience.
Experience collaborating with and contributing to a research team.
Ability to work independently, prioritize and manage multiple tasks, and conduct follow-up.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and spoken).
Flexibility with shifting priorities and competing demands in a fast-paced and challenging work environment.
Skills in communicating openly on sexual and substance use topics, including HIV/AIDS, addiction, and mental health concerns, without prejudice.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Masters of Public Health
Experience conducting clinical studies with research participants
Experience working or networking within the Seattle LGBTQ communities, particularly communities of color
Experience with REDCap, Microsoft Access, Dedoose or other qualitative analysis software, and Stata or other statistical software.
Spanish language fluency
