The Division of Nephrology and the Shankland Lab have an excellent opportunity for a Research Scientist/Engineer 2.
Under limited direction from the principal investigator and lab manager, this position will be expected to perform meticulous laboratory procedures primarily in primary kidney cell isolation and culture. This position will be responsible for performing establishing and characterizing kidney cell lines, establishing kidney cell co-culture, immunocyochemistry, gene transfections, and functional assays (permeability). Fluorescence-activated cell sorting. Real time PCR and western blot analysis. Microscopy techniques including: live cell imaging, confocal and ultrastructure techniques.
