The Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Research Scientist/Engineer 2 in the Eldredge Lab.
The Eldredge lab is dedicated to improving care for infants with severe bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), a devastating lung disease acquired by babies who are born prematurely. Under the direction of Laurie Eldredge, MD, PhD, the Research Scientist/Engineer will contribute to novel translational research in pulmonary immunology, which may inform development of future treatments for infants with BPD. Dr. Eldredge is also committed to providing career mentorship for the Research Scientist/Engineer.
The Research Scientist/Engineer will be responsible for the coordination of translational research program activities, which include both a mouse model of BPD and complementary analyses of human immune cells.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Biology or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2-3 years of relevant work experience. Solid communication skills. Willingness to work with mice and to regularly learn new experimental procedures. Some exposure to basic immunology, cell and molecular biology, and genetics. Willingness to work occasional weekends due to logistics of mouse experiments.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Additional research experience, including M.S. or Ph.D. degrees. Previous experience with multi-color flow cytometry. Interest in medicine/pediatrics/immunology/biotechnology.
