The Department takes pride in the depth and breadth of the training offered. When a physician completes our program, they are equipped to care for any critically ill patient or clinical situation in the perioperative period.
Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Residency Program Operations Specialist.
The purpose of this position is to provide Graduate Medical Education programmatic operational support to the ACGME accredited residency program in the Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine. This individual will report to the Residency Education Administrator with a strong matrixed relationship to the APM Residency Program Director. The individual in this position must possess a strong systems orientation, knowledge of and demonstrated experience with process improvement techniques, and above-average expertise with technical/IT systems. They will function as the in-department expert on GME systems and will act as liaison to the GME office on technical issues.
The specific responsibilities of this program fall into several categories:
The complexities of managing a compliant residency program are significant. This individual must have technical and personal skills to manage of myriad systems, processes and data that impact upon a smoothly running and compliant residency program. Management and oversight of the extensive technical structure requires someone who is able to work independently and handle situations and problems resourcefully with only minimal oversight. This individual will have primary responsible for oversight and management of the residency training program’s extensive technical structure and the interfaces that ensure the program is in compliance with the residency training program’s complex rules and requirements.
This position supports APM education activities within the Department and is critical to successful program accreditation, as well as the satisfaction and success of our trainees, whether students, residents or fellows.
Development, Oversight and management for Department ACGME Technical systems, e.g., MedHub, internal tracking systems, resident intranet as well as external presence on the web
Management of Resident ACGME-compliant curriculum
Internal Consultant and Resource Manager
Oversight and Management of Residency Budgets, including resident allotments
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: BA in Education, Science, Psychology, Communications or similar
Type and Years of Experience: 3 years’ experience in healthcare, preferably in educational setting.
