The Office of the Dean of the College of Engineering has an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Academic Adviser.
The Engineering Advising Team advises a population of roughly 1,700 first and second-year undergraduate Engineering Undeclared students. Undergraduate academic advising at the University of Washington is a core element of the University's focus on student learning. • Serve as the adviser liaison to the UApp (the application to engineering departments) by coordinating between the IT team, departmental advisers, and prospective students.
• Review and authorize verification forms for curriculum programs of students in the following areas: athletes, veterans, ROTC, and Extension students.
Programmatic and Administrative Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary liaison to the Engineering Living Learning Community (LLC).
• Partner with the Resident Director (RD) in Maple Hall to provide input on hiring and assist with training/orienting LLC Resident Advisers (RAs).
• Meet weekly with the RD and attend all weekly RA meetings (likely in the evenings) to engage in planning for immersive, seamless engineering exploration programming.
• Coordinate the Engineering Exploration Night program with the Engineering Advising Team, the Engineering LLC and College of Engineering Advancement team.

• Review content on the College of Engineering advising and admissions websites regularly and partner with the CoE web development team to ensure it's accurate and student-friendly.
• Contribute to the process of writing, editing, updating, and disseminating departmental sample four-year plans, and engineering disciplines sheet.
• Assist in the development of signature program planning and execution such as Engineering Launch and placement-related sessions.
