UW Medicine Strategic Marketing & Communications has an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Manager, Events and Sponsorships (Program Operations Specialist).
Reporting into the UW Medicine Strategic Marketing & Communications marketing team, the Senior Manager, Events and Sponsorship provides leadership for special events, sponsorships and community projects intended to reach a wide variety of audiences served by UW Medicine and the UW Health Sciences Center. This position requires a self-starter, creative individual who has the ability to work well with administrators, faculty, staff, students, volunteers, and the general public in fulfillment of UW Medicine and the Health Sciences commitment to community service and outreach.
PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE:
Build and Manage Events: Strategically lead the planning of events for consumer, academic and business target audiences by creating meaningful experiences such as open houses, clinic openings, academic programs, consumer events. This includes collaborating with marketing, communications and digital to develop and execute all necessary details required to develop, plan and execute a good experience for attendees. Manage and drive collaboration with internal, faculty and third party vendors to develop event programs.
Sponsorships and Community Outreach: Work with leadership to organize UW Medicine’s strategic marketing sponsorship opportunities. This includes: Tracking all sponsorships; developing contracts; creating invitations; tracking attendance at events; ensuring all brand and support materials are developed and delivered. Work within a multi-disciplinary team to help plan and execute a more robust community outreach into the communities served by UW Medicine.
Supervise: Manage and mentor Outreach Coordinator.
Work Team and Vendor Management: Act as project manager to drive work team to deliver project components on time and in brand standards.
Other Responsibilities: Represent the department in outreach and events activities as appropriate. Act as resource for departments needing information on organizing special events.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in communications, public relations, or business administration, plus 3-4 years of experience in marketing, community outreach and/or special events field.
