Under the University of Washington Medical Center Social Work Department’s Policies and Professional Social Work requirements, this Social Work Professional serves as a member of the UWMC Emergency Medicine Service (EMS) health care team, providing direct services to EMS patients and their support systems, and providing consultation to medical staff regarding psychosocial issues, and for responding to inpatient social work emergencies after hours.
The University of Washington Medical Center's Emergency Medicine Services has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time (24 hours/week), night shift, MEDICAL SOCIAL WORKER 1 or 2. This position reports to the Emergency Room Social Work Manager. This social work professional will demonstrate the knowledge and skills to provide care and/or services appropriate to the age of the patient in the service area.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Social Worker 2
REQUIREMENTS:
Social Worker 1
A Master of Social Work Degree from a program accredited by the Council of Social Work Education AND six months of experience in a health care delivery system.
OR
Equivalent education/experience.
Health care experience can include a practicum placement as part of a social work training program and/or employment experience.
Social Worker 2
A Master of Social Work Degree from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education AND two years of full-time professional social work experience in a health-care setting eligible to begin social work practicum instruction for the School of Social Work.
OR
Equivalent education/experience

Licensed Social Work Associate -Advanced
Licensed Social Work Associate - Independent Clinical
