The College of Arts & Sciences has an outstanding opportunity for a Web Information Specialist to join the marketing and communications web services team.
The Web Information Specialist specializes in content editing, information organization, and configuration of content management systems. They have a keen editorial eye and provide excellent customer service to unit partners.
The Arts & Sciences web team creates and maintains multiple websites on behalf of the College of Arts & Sciences. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a small team of developers and designers to support diverse programs in the arts, humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences at UW.
As part of our team, the Web Information Specialist will collaborate with content editors from units to build and improve websites and support day-to-day web operations. You will serve as an advocate for public website content and promote content quality standards by training and advising unit staff, creating and maintaining documentation, evaluating and implementing configuration changes, and consulting about best practices for digital content production.
The Web Information Specialist must be comfortable interacting with faculty and department staff, writing copy for web audiences, building sites with content management systems, working with HTML and CSS code, and trouble-shooting within these areas. They are detail-oriented, able to understand the technical complexities of a content management system (CMS), while also championing the larger content strategy and user experience. Strong communication skills are required, as you will work with developers, designers, editors, producers, marketing managers, advisers, and faculty from across the College.

Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Digital Communications, Digital Marketing, Information Sciences, English, or related field. Minimum 2 years’ experience using professional content management systems for information management and organization.
Demonstrated experience in:
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
